Apu Biswas Returns to the Big Screen After Two Years with New Film Secret

Popular Bangladeshi actress Apu Biswas is set to return to the big screen after a two-year hiatus. She will star in Secret, directed by Bondhon Biswas. The film was officially announced on Monday evening at an event attended by the director, cast, and crew.

This marks the third collaboration between Apu Biswas and Bandhan Biswas, following their earlier films Chhayabriksha and Lal Saree. After those projects, Apu stepped away from cinema and focused on brand endorsements. The director expressed his admiration for Apu at the event, stating that working with her always brings him a unique sense of peace. Apu, known for her cooperative nature, reportedly showed interest in the film immediately after hearing the story.

Actors Ador Azad and Piyush Sen will join Apu Biswas as the male leads. The director asked for audience support for this new venture. Apu shared her excitement about returning to the big screen, noting that working opposite two promising actors has further motivated her. Ador Azad is already a recognized face in cinema, while Piyush Sen—an established television actor with over a decade of experience—will be making his film debut. Apu warmly welcomed him, as Piyush is also involved in the film’s production.

Speaking about the director, Apu Biswas described Bondhon Biswas as a proven filmmaker with whom she has always had excellent working experiences. She expressed hope that viewers would enjoy a remarkable film.

The press conference was attended by Bondhon Biswas, Ador Azad, Apu Biswas, and Piyush Sen. The film is being produced by MK Production, a company Apu thanked for taking on a bold challenge. She noted that at a time when many producers are reluctant to make films without Shakib Khan, MK Production has taken the initiative to cast two male leads instead.

With a career spanning more than 20 years, Apu Biswas has acted in over 100 films, around 80 of them opposite Shakib Khan. She has also worked with stars like Manna, Amit Hasan, Kazi Maruf, and Nirab, earning long-lasting appeal among audiences.

Ador Azad began his media journey by winning the Fair & Handsome reality show in 2014. He later gained recognition through television dramas and commercials before transitioning to film, where he has already attracted attention through collaborations with Nishat Salwa, Puja Cherry, and Shobnom Bubly.

Piyush Sen, known for his extensive television career with over 200 dramas, plays a pivotal role in Secret. This film marks his first appearance on the big screen.

Director Bondhon Biswas revealed that Secret will offer surprising elements for the audience. Filming is scheduled to begin in Dhaka early next year, followed by several days of shooting in Cox’s Bazar.
