The US warns of possible military action if Iran refuses a deal, as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth signals readiness for war. With naval control in the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing blockade measures, tensions in the Middle East continue to rise.

The United States has warned that it is ready to resume military action if Iran refuses to enter into an agreement, according to US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. He made the remarks during a press briefing on Thursday in Washington, D.C..

Speaking to reporters, Hegseth said Washington is closely monitoring the situation and remains prepared to take decisive action if necessary. He emphasized that if Iran declines to agree to a deal, military options remain firmly on the table.

US Tightens Control Over Strait of Hormuz

Hegseth stated that the US Navy is currently overseeing maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. He claimed that Iran effectively lacks a functioning navy, allowing the US to maintain control over the vital waterway.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most critical النفط shipping routes, and ensuring its openness remains a top priority. Washington has also welcomed support from other countries to help keep the route accessible.

Naval Blockade to Continue

The US defense chief added that a naval blockade on Iran will remain in place for as long as necessary. According to him, restrictions have been imposed on all vessels entering or leaving Iran as part of a broader strategy to increase pressure on Tehran.

He indicated that these measures are aimed at pushing Iran back to the negotiating table and securing an agreement.

China’s Position

Hegseth also noted that China has assured the United States that it will not supply weapons to Iran during any ceasefire period, describing it as a positive development for regional stability.

Situation of Iran’s Leadership

During the briefing, he said Iran’s current supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei is believed to have been injured but is still alive.

Strong Message to Tehran

Addressing Iran directly, Hegseth said the country has the option to choose a path of prosperity and constructive engagement. However, he warned that choosing otherwise could result in strikes targeting Iran’s infrastructure, electricity, and energy sectors.

Analysts say the remarks could further escalate tensions in the Middle East, raising concerns about the possibility of renewed conflict between Iran and the United States.
